I read the hard copy of the book from the first page to the last page and I was thrilled by the content of the book and the exciting details in it. Through reading the book, I gained an understanding and thorough knowledge on the opulent history that Namibia possess and inspired by the authors life and experiences. The tough-hard times Namibia had gone through during its liberation struggle for independence shape Namibia today. We enjoy independence because of blood and tears that were shed; our heroines scarified their lives for the motherland, Namibia. This rich history is detailed in the book. The book gives reflections on the life and experiences in the exile camps of Kwanza Sul, Lubango etc, and the condition under which people lived, even made easier by visuals in the book as well as the authors own experience under the same circumstance in exile times and the authors life after exiles in the independent Namibia, her country of heritage, her life in England her country of awakening and in the USA, her country of growth. exile state of affairs are of which many do not have a clue off, many try to imagine how life really was and how people endured under those demanding periods, the book gives a reflection on those hard times.

The experiences of the author is an inspiration to many, example of her life abroad during times of tertiary education were she fought hard to make sure that she was financially secure on her own without support, the author kept on believing that all she was going through will come to past, the book reflects the authors personal life with reference on various events and topics that helped shape the authors life. The writerâ??s personal story takes place against historical events. reading about her experiences I was stunned to learn to never give up in difficult situations but to keep believing that better times are ahead and to keep stretching for a better me to reach the highest banner, life can really be hard sometimes and comprehending it may turn out to be a difficult task for many, I am inspired to live my life to the fullest in a productive manner. The author said â??where thereâ??s a will, thereâ??s always a wayâ? teaching one to be a fighter in life. I recommend this book to all citizens of the motherland Namibia and of the cosmopolitan that would want to have an insight of Namibiaâ??s background and its people, get empowered by the Authors personal story throughout her life, keep believing and stretching for a better you. This is a one fun book to read and those interested in reading the book should visit www.theexilechild.com for more information.

I haven't yet read the book or get a copy! but by just want to add to what I believe many have told you already! It's inspiring; writing a book is no joke...you have set a brilliant example...something Namibians we should emulate and do ...we got so many untold rich stories! Have you done the launch yet in Namibia! Is the book available in Namiban bookshop? I'm in SA at the moment trying to complete some studies but will definitely get to get my copy... i was thinking that you perhaps can even launch it in a different way that will not only market it but instill the culture of writing, and give tips and hopes to aspiring young writers in Namibia....just think about it! i'm sure you might even get sponsors to help you do that! Again, Bravo again, being a feminist at heart; I'm inspired by your achievement as aa woman, young woman for that matter! You can inspire a lot of Namibian girls...

hai Rachel! Congratulation on your publication of "The exile Child". Indeed, that will mark a big episode/event in the history of Namibia as a country. The publication will not only be interesting, but very educative on how the freedom of Namibia, which everyone is enjoying today came about. And i may say this will be very dedicative to the born-frees. Please continue with your publication, we did love it alot.
